Obwohl die Fahrer erst immer ab Mittags den Betrieb aufnehmen konnten, absolvierte Kallio in den drei Tagen insgesamt 171 Runden auf dem KTM MotoGP Bike. Smith schaffte insgesamt 86 Runden, trotz einer Knieverletzung, die noch nicht vollständig geheilt ist und zwei harmlose Crashs. Er machte eine Pause am letzten Tag als es regnete.
Mike Leitner (Teamchef MotoGP): "Wenn ich zurückblicke, bin ich sehr zufrieden mit der Arbeit, die das gesamte Team im vergangenen Jahr gemacht hat, besonders wenn man bedenkt, dass neben der Entwicklungsarbeit auch viele andere Dinge uns beschäftigt haben. Die letzten Wochen haben gezeigt, dass wir ein Rennteam geschaffen haben, mit dem wir in der kommenden Saison Spaß am MotoGP haben werden. Unser Zeitunterschied zu den schnellsten Bikes beträgt zwischen ein und zwei Sekunden. Wenn wir diese Schritt-für-Schritt reduzieren können, dann wird es nur eine Frage der Zeit, bevor wir die Rangliste verschieben. Der Input unserer MotoGP-Fahrer war auch für uns sehr wichtig, und sobald sie sich darauf eingestellt hat, haben sie bei unseren Testarbeiten schwer mitgeholfen. "
Sebastian Risse (Technical Director Road Racing ): “We were fortunate enough to be able to try a lot of things on the first two days. When it rained on Friday, we used the time to talk to new members of the team about what has to happen in the next two weeks before work on the construction of the bikes has to begin. The most radical step we made in this test was certainly with the electronics because we had additional input here from new personnel. Regarding the ergonomics, it has apparently paid off that we invested a lot of energy at the beginning of the project because both MotoGP riders are very happy with the situation. The first test in Sepang is going to be important for us before the season begins and we'll be there with both our test team and our racing team.”
Mika Kallio (Test Rider MotoGP): “It’s a year ago since I sat on the motorcycle for the first time. The time has flown by, but we can be satisfied with the work we've done in this short period. There are not many people who can develop a bike of this class, and I’m convinced that this team will sooner or later work their way to the top. I really enjoy riding a bike at this level, and to take part in the further development, especially because in the past I’ve always been interested in the technical side of things. With Bradley and Pol (Espargaro), I have a good reference concerning my own level, and I hope I will be able to show my speed in the planned wildcard entries.”
Bradley Smith (Factory Rider MotoGP): “Because of my injury it wasn’t the easiest starts to the project, but nevertheless I still think my first four days on the KTM RC16 were very productive, especially because input from Mika and Pol could also accelerate things a bit. Naturally, we want to advance as quickly as possible, but we stay realistic, and we now have very clear statements from three riders on which areas next need to be improved. Both the team and I have a lot of work ahead of us in the two months before the Sepang tests, and I want to be in better physical shape the next time I get on the bike. We are only at the beginning of the work we have to do, but the level is already better than expected.”
Im Dezember und Januar wird ein allgemeines Testverbot für Werksfahrer verhängt, aber im kommenden Monat wird das Team auch in den zwei Wochen vor Weihnachten intensiv an der Errichtung des Motorrads und anderer Infrastrukturen arbeiten. Dies wird für die offiziellen IRTA-Tests in Sepang, Philip Island und Katar vorbereitet sein, wo Ende März dSmith und Pol Espargaro aus Spanien, der andere Werksfahrer, endlich den offiziellen Einstieg des Teams in die MotoGP starten wird.
