Many have tried it already, but very few have actually managed to reach the finishing line – only the best of the best are able to defeat the mountain.
The Erzberg Weekend culminates in the Red Bull Hare Scramble and 35 cruel kilometers over never-ending steep hills, down on rough descends, through narrow and steep forest roads and over huge rocks of ore stone. Those who dare to get to the start here have already won and perhaps will see pictures of themselves on a mobile phone!
Erzberg indeed is a mountain of iron, a pyramid amidst green Styria, something that is very particular and delivers what it promises. Every year anew it throws off hard-boiled enduro bikers as if they were stick-figures. This mountain is undoubtedly unique on the planet. Talking about the Erzberg Rodeo words like untouchable or gigantic have to be mentioned. Just because of that the mountain attracts the riders like a magnet – 1500 bikers follow the call from Styria; they give everything - some might fail, others might triumph and cheer.
This year again well-known riders like David Knight (GBR), Cyril Despres (FRA), Marc Coma (ESP), Chris Pfeiffer (GER), Giovanni Sala (ITA) and other Austrian Enduro champions are anxious to start the race.
Who has managed to finish the first two days of the prologue and still sits on his machine, will be rewarded one of the 500 starting places for the Red Bull Hare Scramble. Then the moment has come for every biker to fight against the mountain! In about four hours the riders will have to tackle 35 kilometers in order to reach the finishing line at the top of the mountain; totally exhausted and with a depleted number of competitors – in 2006 only 39 riders managed to finish the race.

Prologue on Friday, FMX show on Saturday and the Red Bull Hare Scramble forming the crowning conclusion – all information about the highlights on the iron mountain and about its conquerors will be available for Vodafone LIVE!-customers on the mobile phone live from the event.
